Introduction:
All you motoholic speed freaks
>>> FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS
>>> SECURE YOUR HARNESS
>>> AND STEP ON THE GAS
Let the roar of your engine turn those who are obligated to follow you in to a smoldering wreck.
Problem Statement:
Make a wireless remote controlled car, powered ONLY by an IC Engine, the car with the fastest lap time wins.
Event format:
The event will be held in multiple stages
- Vehicle Inspection: Basic Judgment of vehicle subjected to rules.
- Time Warps: Qualifying session with every team getting couple of laps blitz to wreck the track.
Fastest successful time trial will be taken into account for the successive round.
- League Zone: Qualified teams will be classified into pools based upon Time warps results, and will face one-on-one challenge.
- Finals
Track Specification:
It will be a flat concrete track consisting of Jumps, S and U turns along with checkpoints at regular intervals. Detailed track design will be uploaded shortly.
Vehicle Specification:
- Maximum engine capacity should be 3.2cc.
- The completed vehicle should fit in a box of dimensions 70cm X 50cm X 50cm at every given point of time in the race.
The external device used to control the machine is not included in the size constraint.
Antennae (if used) are exempt from the height restriction.
- Parts that are to be fabricated by the participants:
- The chassis
- The body cover
- Steering mechanism
- Platform for the electronics, engines and fuel tank.
- The fuel to be is should only have these constituents, methanol, castor oil/synthetic oil, nitro
methane. The percentage of nitro methane should not exceed 20% by volume in the fuel.
- Participants are required to bring remote control with provision for dual frequency or should have provision for extra frequency crystal in case of frequency clash with opponent.
- Electric Power can be used only for controlling purposes like steering and throttle and at the same time should not exceed than 12 Volts.
General rules:
- The vehicle will be inspected once by expert panel before the eve of the event. If the machine is found unsafe to run on the track or not fabricated as per rules, that team will be disqualified from the race. Judges decision shall be treated as final and binding on all.
- After inspection the team will be given a registration number and a practice slot before the competition. Team missing the slot would not be allowed to practice on the track again.
- Once inspection is over, vehicle is not allowed to be modified. If found guilty in this respect will be disqualified.
- The participants must place their vehicles at the start-finish line before start of the race.
- If any of the vehicle starts off before the green signal is set, the time counter would be reset providing second chance. However, if any vehicle starts off before the green signal is set again, it will be disqualified. No re-match will be held for the second time.
- The track will have check points at regular intervals. If a vehicle tumbles, or halts, or goes off the track at any point, one of the team members is allowed to lift it up and place it at the nearest checkpoint behind that point. There will be a time penalty of 5 sec. every time the vehicle requires to be lifted.
- Team members are not permitted to touch either their vehicles or those of their opponents once the race begins (exception to Rule No.6).Violation of the rule will lead to disqualification.
- The teams must adhere to the spirit of healthy competition. The coordinators reserve the right to disqualify any team indulged in misbehavior.
- Teams are not allowed to purposefully damage the vehicle of the opponent's team. If found doing so on track (during racing), the concerned team will lead to disqualification. Execution of this rule will be subjective and relies completely on judges' discretion.
The Decisions taken by the Judges will be final and binding to all.
Team Size:
A team may consist of maximum 5 members. It is not mandatory for all the members of a team to be from the same educational institution.
Participants will need to submit pictures taken during fabrication of the parts through e-mail.
